Kate Scissons

Katie started skiing at the age of 2 (THANK YOU MOM & DAD!!) which now makes it 25 years and counting, and coaching for 7 years.

What Katie enjoys most about coaching --  it's the friendships you see form in a class, seeing the athletes excitement after their race run, watching the athletes grow over the years in the ski race club, and learning from other coaches.

What do you like about WSRC? What I like about WSRC is the people, the connections you make and the small homey community feel.

What is your favourite skiing memory or memories? My favourite ski memories are from when I was younger ski racing, participating in multiple ski camps were so fun!! Also, making friends within and outside of your club from camps/races.

What do you do when you are not coaching skiing?

If I am not ski coaching, I am usually traveling around the world gaining new experiences & friendships. Or being super lazy at the cottage in Toney River in the summertime.

Any advice for athletes and/or parents? My advice for athletes and parents: the lessons you learn in skiing go far beyond the sport, you can relate it and incorporate the skills and experiences you learn into your life.
