Weekend Updates and Upcoming Events

It’s a big weekend! Check out the updates below to make sure you aren’t missing out. 

Roland Brunner & Dave Wilson Memorial Races
Friday, Feb 10th - Sunday, Feb 12th

The Wentworth Ski Race Club is proud to be hosting the 50th Roland Brunner Alpine Ski Race!
100+ athletes from across the Atlantic Region, ranging in ages from 12-18+ will compete in the Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom disciplines.
All Wentworth Ski Race Club alumni and those who have participated in the Brunner race in the past are welcome to come to Ski Wentworth for the Brunner events.
The Roland Brunner is the final race before the Ski Nova Scotia Team is selected for the 2023 Canada Winter Games, hosted in PEI from February 27th – March 5th, 2023.

Ben Eion Race & Camp Update - Feb. 25 & 26

The Ski Cross competition will not be proceeding as planned. However Ben Eion will still be hosting a SL race over two days. U14+ will race full gates, U12 and U10 will race stubbies. Details for registration will be available shortly but interested families are encouraged to book accommodations soon as vacancies are limited.

Martock Race Update

The Martock race previously scheduled for U12 and under this weekend has been postponed. An update will be provided as soon as possible.

Canada Winter Games Training Camp

The previously scheduled training camp for CWG eligible athletes will not be proceeding as indicated on the race calendar. The coaches are currently working on an alternative plan to provide training opportunities and will provide more detail as soon as they are able. 

Lodge Etiquette for Food and Storage

It will be a busy weekend at the hill with athletes across the region in attendance. Ski Wentworth would like to remind our membership of the new lodge etiquette regarding food and bags. To recap: 

• Bags must not be stored in the lodge. If you change inside, please take your bag either to the cubbies in the snow dome or your vehicle.

• The “old section” (South end) of the lodge is reserved for cafeteria customers. Outside food is not permitted in this section.

• Outside food is permitted:

  • In the “new” concrete floor section of the lodge

  • In the Snow Dome

50/50 Draw Update

Last month’s 50/50 jackpot was $3,800!
