Hello WSRC, 

Bundle up, it’s going to be a cold one.

We are looking forward to seeing you this weekend - but given the forecast - we encourage families to dress for the elements and limit any exposed skin.

Slingshot Race & B-Netting Prep

Sunday, Feb 5th 
U10/U12

For many athletes this will be their first race experience and we want to ensure everyone has a great day. 

Athletes should meet their coaches as they normally would. The race will take place during regular program hours and they will be skiing under the guidance of their coaches.

BNetting is necessary for a safe race and so are parent volunteers? 

We will need 20-25 volunteers at the hill by 7am on Sunday Feb 5th.

Together we’ll install the B-Netting for the Roland Brunner race before the hill opens for the day and the Slingshot begins. As many parents will be traveling with senior team athletes this day, this is a great opportunity for families with younger athletes to learn the ropes. 

To participate you will need: 

• A ski helmet
• Snow boots (ideally with crampons)
• Warm layers of clothing 

You will be required to help in lifting rolls of B-Net (approx. 40-50lbs), unrolling the net, and holding it in place while another member of the crew drills holes to place the poles in the snow. We will be working our way up the Rose Bowl, Helter Skelter, and Sissy.

Congratulations to Suzanne Townsend, winner of the January draw with a jackpot of $3,800.
