RSVP to attend WSRC Mountain Biking Event - Oct. 29th

2022-10-17

Thanks to the support of the Wentworth Mountain Biking Association, WSRC athletes and families have the opportunity to participate in a group mountain biking ride on Saturday, Oct. 29th on the trail system at the hill.

A pass is required to access the trails which will be free to WSRC members for the day.

Here’s what you need to know to participate:

  • Open to athletes U10 and up and their families

  • U10 athletes and less experienced riders must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

  • Helmets and bikes are required

  • Knee pads and gloves are recommended

  • 10 am - meet up at the trailhead (by the parking lot furthest away from the clubhouse)

  • 12 pm - Approx. time for the end of the ride

  • After the ride, registered members are invited for a BBQ hosted by Matt and Christina Healy (6 Mountain View Lane). Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided thanks to a sponsor. BYOB. Details to follow.

Please RSVP below.

How difficult is the trail?

The climb up the hill is approximately 2.3 km on well groomed switch backs and will get your heart pumping. It typically takes between 20 - 40 minutes to complete depending on the age and ability of the rider. The downhill trails are classified as blue and have bumps and berms to challenge riders. If your athlete has never participated in downhill mountain biking before they may find this to be a challenging ride and require the support of a parent or guardian.

Just as in skiing, there is a potential for injury and parents and athletes should take careful note of the details outline the waiver on the WMBA website.

Can athletes ride without a parent or guardian?

Only athletes who are experienced riding the mountain bike trails should ride without a parent or guardian. All athletes U10 years of age must be with a parent or guardian regardless of ability.
