Weekend Prep: Race Opportunity for U12, Our Next Clothing Order & 12 Hours of Wentworth

It’s hard to believe we are already 5 weeks into the ski season with a few exciting highlights just around the corner.

First Race Opportunity of the Year!
Saturday, Feb 13 at Ski Martock

Who can participate? 

U12 athletes who have had the opportunity to train on the course this season. All athletes will also need to successfully complete this Health Screening Questionnaire in advance.

How do you register?

On the WSRC website. The registration link is now live. If you have any issues, you can contact Susanne Townsend our Race Administrator at roc@wentworthracing.com.

How much will it cost to participate? 

The cost to WSRC athletes to participate in the Saturday (GS/KOMBI) is $70, which includes the fee for the Saturday race ($25) which WSRC remits to Martock as the host hill, and Coaching Expenses ($45/racer). 

When is the registration deadline? 

Tuesday, Feb. 6th by 9pm. This is in advance of the deadline on the race notice to allow us to arrange for coaches. 

How long is the event? 

WSRC will be participating in the Saturday, Feb. 13th event only. While there is an opportunity for training at Martock on Feb. 14th our coaches will be focused on delivering training at Ski Wentworth that day.

When will U8 and U10 athletes have the opportunity to race? 

Our U8/U10 athletes have not yet had the opportunity for adequate training and exposure to gates this season due to limited available course time. However,  they will have the opportunity to participate in the Slingshot Race which is currently scheduled for March 8th at Ski Wentworth.

8:30 AM - 8:30 PM

The season wouldn’t be complete without our athletes’ favourite fundraiser - a fun challenge to test their endurance and support the club.

The chance to win prizes and snacks makes it even more enjoyable. 

If you are interested in supporting this event as a volunteer or by donating prizes for the athletes, please contact Katie Hilton at katielhilton@me.com. Many hands make light work! More details to follow but you can start collecting your pledges now with the attached pledge sheet.

Optional Training Opportunities Thursday and Friday

Additional training for U12 and Senior athletes is available on Thursday and Friday of next week. Deadline for registration: Tuesday, Feb 9th by 8pm.
