Newsletter #10...March Madness

10.1 Thank you!! 

Thank you to the following folks for helping out with the silent auction:  Chantal Edwards, Robin Thorsteinson, Izzy Rollings, Sally Rollings, Duncan Gillis, James Luther, Katie Hilton, Sonja Ashford, Lee Simms, Janice Faulkner, Max Pretty, Caroline Pretty & Sophie Rollings, Matt Healy and also to our doorwoman / bouncer: Tara MacAulay.

Thank you to everyone who donated a prize….too many to mention (!)….and thank you to those who came out to the Hopping Penguins and supported the event….the final numbers are not yet in but we managed to raise over $5k and we could not have done this without YOU!

10.2 This Weekend….

10.2.1 We have 15 U12 and under athletes attending the PEI Race this weekend.  Coaches will be Mike Byrne and Olivia Mason.

10.2.2. Saturday Night Clubhouse Series….Senior Team Pot Luck Dinner and Karaoke Night. 6-7:30pm…Currently there is asurvey monkey out on the Senior Team Whatsapp to confirm the night…

10.3 Next Weekend….

10.3.1 Friday, March 13^th is the Byrne Cup Fun Race for U12 & U14…Register by March 8^th

10.3.2 For anyone travelling on March Break, we wish you safe travels and an enjoyable vacation....don’t forget to send us a photo of the places your WSRC jacket gets to ski!

10.4 Other March Events...

10.4.1 March 21 & 22:  Farlagne U10+ Race.  Race Notices are posted and the deadline to register is March 14th

10.4.2 March 28^th

•  Club Championship Race at Wentworth.  All welcome, including Sunday-only athletes.
• End of season social will be held Apres-ski style at the WW Valley Rec Ctr the same day.

10.5 Spring Events…

10.5.1 Amqui Race for U14+ April 4 & 5

10.5.2 Depart Amqui and head to the April MSA Camp: ON-SNOW  : Monday April 6th to Sunday April 12^th -- DEPART : Monday April 13^th…if interested contact Gregor.

10.5.3 Level 3 Officials course now scheduled for May 2 and 3 in Halifax.  Note this course is only available in NS every second year.  Anyone with Level 2 is encouraged to attend.

10.5.4 Ski NS AGM:  May 26th  All members of WSRC are welcome to attend.

10.6 Athlete Corner….

Congratulations to Hayden Denouden (U12) who won the Gold in GS and Bronze in SL in the Para Standing category of the 2020 Ontario Winter Games last weekend!!
