A Message from Volunteer Coordinator Duncan Gillis…

Wow! Despite the weather we survived the SLINGSHOT event ...Thank you to everyone that stepped up and helped out with the Slingshot race ... truly an amazing bunch of parents volunteering in adverse conditions for the good of our little athletes.  Thank you to Robyn and Heather for all their work behind the scenes in the secretary room, Sally, Robyn and Christine for their efforts in the timing hut tabulating the race.  Thank you to the amazing crew of gate judges; James, Tina, Graham, Jill, Anne, Angela, Jason, Deborah, Sonjia (most first timers and hopefully I didn't scare them off) we were lucky enough to have enough volunteers that it was only a half day commitment on their part.  The course crew; Jeff, James, Shaun, Andrew, Ben, Craig ... who were roped in last minute but did an admirable job keeping to course skiable and clean.  Alison and Jillian did double duty collecting the bibs and handing out the t-shirts ... so good that for the first time we were able to collect them all on the day of the race.  To the lunch brigade; Ryan, Nick, Andrew, Alex, Eric, Jen and Nicole thank you all the athletes were fed and satisfied despite the weather.  To Kate and Kate thank you for the great job announcing and keep the spectators entertained and informed.  The official crew did an amazing job as well with the timing and starting of the athletes; Greg, Todd, Matt, Dave thank you.  Last but not least, thank you to Tara MacAulay for all the work to provide the fabluous T-shirts!

If I have forgotten anyone, my apologies, it was a lot of organizing and juggling.  Please check the sign up genus web page (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044aa4a728a2f49-volunteers) to ensure that I have credited you with your efforts during the event.  If I have missed anyone (or misspelled any names) please let me know via email and I will fix the sign up asap.

Thank you again and look forward to see all your volunteer efforts in the future!....Duncan Gillis
