1 - Volunteer Shout Out…

Hello to all the parents of our WSRC athletes.  This is a call out for volunteers!! 

We have an event happening this Sunday, Jan 26th, where our u8 / u10 and u12 athletes will compete against their peers from other ski hills.  In order to run this event we need you to help out and step up and volunteer. 

 The volunteer website (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044aa4a728a2f49-volunteers) has been set up to assist with this. 

There are a number of different opportunities there (first come first serve) for anyone to do.  Any of the knowledge or officiating positions are not available, so you will not get in over your head.
 
2 - This Weekend…

Missed check-in?  Saturday & Sunday at 12:30pm, we will be in the main entrance of the lodge.  Please come by to sign some forms, confirm contact info and collect club swag.

Sunday is Slingshot (!!) U8-U12 Fun race of the season at Wentworth.
 
Most of our Senior Team will be heading to Crabbe Speed Week on Sunday to train Super G for a Super G race next Friday.  Good luck to all!

3 - Introducing the Saturday Night Series in the Clubhouse….

To make more use of our clubhouse and have fun off the slopes….we've tried to plan something for everyone:

• February 1- U10s and U12s- Chocolate Bar Bingo! 6-7:30 pm.
• February 8 – U8, U10, U12 Board Games. 6-7:30 pm
• February 16 (Sunday night): Chili Cook-off and 12 hours of WW (Family Weekend)
• February 22- U12s only- Movie night and snacks from 6-8 pm
• March 7- Senior Team (U14+) movie and snacks. 7-9 pm.

 
4 - FUNdraising...

It is never too late to start collecting pledges for the TWELVE HOURS OF WENTWORTH ski-a-thon on Sunday February 16^th.  Participating club members will ski 8:30am-8:30pm.  We will have a base station with free snacks, hourly prize draws and a best costume competition.  Here is the pledge sheet….http://www.wentworthracing.com/files/pledge_sheet_12_hours_of_ww_2.doc

Silent Auction and Hopping Penguins Dance on February 29^th.  Prizes are trickling in.  If you have anything to donate, please e-mail admin@wentworthracing.com

Raffle Tickets Explained….Raffle tickets are handed out at check-in. You can sell the tickets and retain the proceeds or you can fill them out yourself. Raffle tickets must be turned in by March 28^th in the red mailbox beside the WSRC notice board in the lodge.  The draw takes place the same day at the end of season social.

6 - Athlete Update...

U18 FIS Racer Emily Todd left today for the Ontario super series FIS races in Collingwood , 2 SL and  2 GS.  Join us in wishing Emily good luck and good skiing!!

If all goes as planned she hopes to make it back to Crabbe in time to do the races
