It is with sadness that we share the passing of a former Wentworth Ski Racing Club Coach, Paul Bowie on Sunday, March 3rd.  Paul was a well-known fixture in Wentworth and coached skiing for many years.

The following excerpt from his obituary gives anyone who did not know him an idea of the extent of his contribution in this regard (he had many others as well):  “…His happy place was Wentworth and for many years he coached young children, giving them their first experience skiing through the trees and hearing ghost stories going up the chairlist.  He was always first in line to volunteer for races and worked relentlessly during the Canada Games…”

Most of our coaching staff knew and worked with Paul and received news of his passng ealry Sunday morning before programs started.  Our coachng staff dug deep to provide cheerful coaching to their athletes while processing this news and we are very proud of and thankful for their efforts.

Paul’s funeral is this coming Saturday afternoon in Dartmouth and the majority of our coaching staff will be in attendance.  We have put together substitute coaches and ask everyone to bear with us while we cobble it together this coming Saturday.

The two events planned for Saturday, 12-hours of Wentworth and the Great Chilli Cook-off are still proceeding.
