CALL TO ACTION - WSRC NEW CLUBHOUSE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

 
Thank you to those who attended the Grand Opening of our New Clubhouse.We are very excited about this space as we believe this will enhance not only our programming, but also the opportunities for mentoring between older and younger athletes and improve the WSRC’s inclusiveness.
 
As those who attended the ceremony heard, concurrent with enjoying the new Clubhouse, we need to fundraise $50,000.  We want to make the most of the excitement of year 1 to build momentum.
 
We recognize the diversity of our club members and as such, we've created four different fundriasing initiatives with a view that at least one of these would best suit your family.  We would appreciate it if you would select at least one initiative to focus on.
 
The four initiatives are:

1. GoFundMe
2. 12-Hours of Wentworth Ski-a-thon
3. Silent Auction
4. Corporate Sponsors / Donations

 
1 - GO FUND ME
This is our crowdfunding / grass roots fundraising mechanism where it is super simple for anyone to donate any amount $5 and up…
 
Here is how it works:

• Share to your Facebook page if you have one
• The above steps take as little as 2 minutes
• Send a short personal e-mail to contacts you might have: friends, relatives, folks you give business to, etc.  You never know who might come forward to donate & every little bit helps!

• We'd like eery member to send to 10 friends for $10-20 each.

 
 
2 - 12-Hours of Wentworth Ski-athon
The new clubhouse will benefit the athletes the most.  The ski-athon on March 9^th is the athletes’ chance to contribute to the capital campaign.  This is an annual event, but this year we plan to pump up the volume.  Pledge sheets:  http://wentworthracing.goalline.ca/news_images/org_3755/files/pledge_sheet_12_hours_of_ww_2%20(1).doc
 
What happens:

• Participants collect pledges for lump sums, $/run or $ per vertical metre (pledge sheet attached).
• Skiers ski 8:30am-8:30pm. 
• We plan to have counters verify laps, base station with snacks, prize draws every hour and prizes for top fundraisers.

 
3 - Silent Auction
On March 2^nd, we will be having a silent auction and dance at Ski Wentworth.  Back by popular demand:  The Hopping Penguins band will play 8pm-close.  Ticket will be pre-sold for $15 each and are available for purchase at the lift ticket office.  All members are encouraged to attend.  The silent auction will run noon – 10pm.
 
We are currently gathering prizes for the silent auction table.  Please consider what you might be able to donate for the silent auction table.  You never know what will attract bids.  Last year’s surprise earners were a golf tournament prize re-gifted by Ryan Townsend and two children’s toys donated by the Shaffners.  Contact WSRC parent Christina Pace at cpace@rodddev.com if you have a prize donation.  This fundraiser extends to all patrons of Ski Wentworth.
 
4 - Corporate Sponsors/Donations

We encourage all members to reach out to any corporation they believe may be interested in sponsorship or donation.
