Happy New Year!  We trust that everyone had happy and safe holidays and are ready for the ski season.  Saturday, January 7^th is the first weekend of the regular season; here is some information to help you get kicked off for the season:
 
1 – U10 groups are now up on the website.  Go to “Programs”, “U10” and “U10 Groups”.
 
2 - U12 / U14 / U16 / U18 will be training SLALOM on SATURDAY January 7th.  This will be posted weekly on our FB site, and our FB feed on our website as well as the ticker announcement on the website.
 
3 – Start times:

• U10 starts at 9:30am outside the front door of the lodge, we ask that you come 10 minutes early to get organized so that groups head to the lift as close to 9:30 as possible.
• U12 meets outside the Base Lodge at 8:45 for warm up and skiing at 9:00.  <
• U14 meet at the race shack at 8:00; as warm-up starts outside at 8:15.

 
4 – Pick-up Times:

• Lunch time is from 11:30-12:30 and is unsupervised.  U10 coaches will wait with their athletes until parents pick up their children.
• The day ends at 2:30pm.  U10 & U12 coaches will wait with their athletes until parents pick up their children.

 
5 – Bear with us!
 
Unfortunately, the first away race of the season coincides with our first weekend, so several of our coaching staff and myself will be away.  This is out of our control and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 
 
6 – Parent Meetings
 
There are meetings from 12:30-2pm on Saturday and Sunday, January 14 & 15 in the Port Greville Room for parents of U10 and U12 skiers.  Please ensure you come to whichever day best suits your schedule.  We will introduce Board Members, review the parent handbook and website and I will be on hand to summarize the program and answer any questions you might have.  Additionally, the volunteer program will be further explained about how you can earn your money back and there will be volunteer opportunities to sign up for.
 
7 – WSRC Apparel & Swag
 
This will be available to order starting January 14.  We are hoping to have samples to view at the lodge.
 
8 – Parent Welcome Après Ski Social
 
This will be from 3-5pm on Saturday, January 14^th and details will follow next week.
 
9 – Slingshot T-Shirt Contest
 
U10’s and U12’s are reminded to submit designs by January 10, 2017.  For more details, check out the website.
 
10 – Picture Day
 
We will be taking photos of the groups with their coaches at the beginning of the session on Sunday, January 15, 2017.  These will be posted on the website.
